I've been trying to explain to my 2yr old son who Jolly old St.Nick is, and I think he kind of gets it...but only the present part and the fact that the fat man in red says " ho ho ho". But have you noticed that Santa doesn't say ho ho ho anymore?? I took M to meet Santa at the mall a couple of weeks ago, and I prepped him for a few days prior, we practiced our 'ho ho ho' and saying hi to Santa, and high fives.. we get there, and Santa says " hello there" - my son looked at me , puzzled. I looked at Santa and said " Santa, don't you say ho ho ho? Ho Ho Ho Santa!" the old man in the red suit looked at me bitterly, and almost through a clenched jaw uttered ' ho ho ho' like it was the worst thing anyone has asked him to do in ages. Really man? you're a mall Santa...take another swig of your flask and smile for the camera. - sorry, I just assume all mall Santas are like the Santa in the original Miracle on 34th Street, drunk and disorderly.
